# Simplify the expression

hello, need help simplifying this expression. Any help will be greatly appreciated, thank you.

(6x+1)^3(27x^2+2) - (9x^3+2x)(3)(6x+1)^2(6)

(6x+1)^6

Hey herrera.

I think you should show your working first before this goes further.

(6x+1)^3(27x^2+2) - (9x^3+2x)(3)(6x+1)^2(6)

(6x+1)^6
Hint: What can you factor out of the numerator? Don't overthink this...it's right in front of you.

okay,

i factor out: (6x+1)^2

then i try to simplify

(6x+1)^3 (27x^2+2)
--------------------
(6x+2)^6

--------------------
(6x+2)^2

then,

(6x+1)^3 (27x^2+2) 1
-------------------- * -----------
(6x+2)^6 (6x+1)^2

then,

(27x^2+2)
-----------
(6x+2)^5

but as i keep going i feel that i am solving this problem incorrectly or i have some sort of law or rule mistaken. I do the same for,

(9x^3+2x)(3)(6x+1)^2(6)
-------------------------
(6x+2)^6

(9x^3+2x)(3)(6x+1)^2(6)
-------------------------
(6x+2)^6

-------------------------
(6x+2)^2

(9x^3+2x)(3)(6x+1)^2(6) 1
------------------------- * -------------
(6x+2)^6 (6x+2)^2

(9x^3+2x)(3)(6)
----------------
(6x+2)^6

$\dfrac{\cancel{(6x+1)^2}[(6x+1)(27x^2+2)-(9x^3+2x)(3)(6)]}{\cancel{(6x+1)^2}(6x+1)^4}$

finish it ...
