# one question about zeroes of polynimial

#### saha.subham

the polynomial is

x^2 + 2x + 1

i am getting the zero is -1 by mid term splitting
but as it is a degree 2 polynomial it should have 2 zeroes what is the other zero and the process to find it.

#### slovakiamaths

You have to count each root with its multiplicity.

As $$\displaystyle x^2+2x+1=(x+1)^2$$, the multiplicity of the root -1 is 2.
