I have no clue how to work out the revenue for my assignment? please help.

"a surfboard company produces a particluar style of thongs. the fixed cost to set up production is $1500 and the cost to produce each pair of thongs is $2.50"

a) write an expression for the revenue (R dollars) earned if the thongs are sold for $14.95.

then complete this table

Let \(\displaystyle x\) = number of thongs produced.

They will cost \(\displaystyle 2.50x\) dollars to produce.
They will bring in \(\displaystyle 14.95x\) dollars
There is a fixed cost of $1500.

The revenue (income) is: .\(\displaystyle -1500 - 2.50x + 14.95x\)

Therefore: . \(\displaystyle R \;=\;{\color{blue}12.45}x - 1500\)



b) Complete this table

Just substitute \(\displaystyle x = 0, 100, 200, 300\) into the revenue function in part (a).

There is a fixed cost of $1500.

The revenue (income) is: .\(\displaystyle -1500 - 2.50x + 14.95x\)

Therefore: . \(\displaystyle R \;=\;14.95x - 1500\)



Just substitute \(\displaystyle x = 0, 100, 200, 300\) into the revenue function in part (a).
It'd actually be
\(\displaystyle R=12.45x-1500\). You forgot to subtract the \(\displaystyle 2.50x\)
