Area (integrals)

Could some one help me with this question, it been bugging me:

Calculate the area of the region bounded between the graph of y = x(x + 3)(x - 5) and the x-axis from x = -3 to x = 5 (Answer was 863/6).

I dont get it cause they just computed it as a normal definite integral (without using any absolute signs, for the negative portion). This is asking for area, so shouldnt it be the area above the y-axis + the absolute value of the area below the y-axis?

Are you sure the limits were not switched or the value was not subtracted? There are various ways to add things up.
