    Trying to prove a trig identity

    this one is stumping me

    cos^2x-cotx
    --------------- = cot^2x
    sin^2x-tanx


    prove left to right

    \frac{\cos ^{2}x-\cot x}{\sin ^{2}x-\tan x}=\cot x\cdot \frac{\cos x-\csc x}{\sin x-\sec x}=\cot ^{2}x\cdot \frac{\sin (x)\cos (x)-1}{\sin (x)\cos (x)-1}=\cot ^{2}x.
