Suppose there is a ferris wheel of diameter 20 m and rotating at a rate of 3 cycles/2 min. Model the height of a passenger with a sinusoidal function. Assume the passenger is 2 m off the ground at his.her lowest point.
Ok, can someone check for me if I have my equations right:
cosine function
h(t)=10cos(pi/20)(t-20)+12
sine function
h(t)=10sin(pi/20)(t-10)+12
let me know if I have anything wrong, what I should fix, and how to fix it and why I need to fix it.
also, my teacher said something about a temporary horizontal x-axis in this question.. why do we need a temp x axis and what is it for? i didn't quite catch it and forget to ask at the end. could someone just clarify for me what it is needed for and why. okay, thank you in advance!
