Solve for all positive values of the angle theta such that theta is greater than or equal to zero and less than or equal to 360 degrees.
sin2theta + cot2theta=1

Help please! I really have no idea on how to solve this.

is that ...

$<br /> \sin(2\theta) + \cot(2\theta) = 1<br />$

or ...

$<br /> \sin^2{\theta} + \cot^2{\theta} = 1<br />$

?

Let $t = \tan(\theta)$

You can show that $\sin(2 \theta) = \frac{2t}{1+t^2}$

and that $\cot(2 \theta) = \frac{1-t^2}{2t}$

This simplifies the equation
