    triangle

    question: part of a lifting
    • the longest member is called the tie bar and is angled at 7o degrees to the horizontal
    • the other long member is called the strut and is angled at 80 degrees to the horizontal
    • the length of the base is 1.4m
    work out the lengths all the members and angles involved

    use the law of sines ...

    \frac{a}{\sin{A}} = \frac{b}{\sin{B}} = \frac{c}{\sin{C}}

    I've modified your sketch a little bit: You know all three interior angles of the triangle.
    Use Sine rule to calculate the length of the two sides of the triangle.
