    write the vector v in terms of i and j

    u= 2i -5j w= -i -6j

    w - u = (2i - 5j) - (-i -6j) = (2i + i) + (-5j + 6j) = 3i + j

    |w - u| = \sqrt{3^2 + 1^2} = \sqrt{10}
