    Quadratic Trigonometric Equations Help

    solve for "theta" to the nearest degree,0degrees ≤ "theta" ≤ 360degrees.

    A. SIN2 "Theta" = 1

    B. Tan2 "Theta" = 1

    My question is that why does question A. only belong to TWO quadrants, while question B belong FOUR quadrants.

    Please provide explanation

    -Thanks again

    because \sin{\theta} = 1 only at \theta = \frac{\pi}{2}

    \tan{\theta} = 1 at \theta = \frac{\pi}{4} and \theta = \frac{5\pi}{4}

    similar argument for when they both equal -1.
