    Calculation Problem

    My calculator is defekt, and I need to finish an assignment in trigonometry.
    Does anyone know any good online calculator to use sin,cos and tan ?

    Im currently using this one : eCalc - Online Scientific Calculator
    seems like a good calculator, but I dont get the following:

    I am looking at a sample:

    Let x represent the hypotenuse, side AC.

    sin = O/H
    sin56=32/x
    xsin56=32
    x=32/sin56
    x=38.6cm

    Dividing 32 by sin 56 using the above calculator gives me a totally different solution. How will I get the correkt answer using that calculator ?

    For the given input, the calculator is giving you the correct output. Either the input is wrong or the answer you're checking against is wrong.

    I tried everything, what Input would be correct to get 38.6 ?

    It clearly shows that 32 has to be divided by sin 56 - I tried the other way too; but the output wasnt the same as the solution in the example which is 38.6.

    Sorry, are you saying your on-line calculator is NOT giving 38.6 ...?

    38.6 is the correct answer for the euqtion you've posted. If the on-line calculator is NOT giving you this answer, can I hazard a guess and say it's giving you a negative answer ....? (This would happen if the calculator thought the angle was being measured in radians rather than degrees).

    On the online calculator:
    Input:

    32/sin(56) = -61.355

    2nd try:

    sin(56)/32= -0.01

    3rd try:

    sin(56) = -0.521/32 = -0.01

    No clue how to get the right answer ... what did you input ?

    The on-line calculator is assuming that angles are measured in radians. You have to tell it that the angle is being measured in degrees.

    If it works like the Google calculator ( sin(30 degrees) - Google Search ) then you have to type "56 degrees" as part of the input.

    use this calculator

    Scientific Calculator

    input 56sin

    then press 1/x

    then multiply by 32 and you will get your answer

    Somehow I have to use the 2nd function like in a scientific calculator; but the calculator I have given has no 2nd function and like you recognized it measures in radians ... i tried to put degrees beside it, but it didnt work... using the google calculator I get the sin number; but somehow I have to enter that number using the 2nd function in a regular scientific calculator to get my final answer ... do you know what to write to get that in google ?

    I don't see the problem .....:

    Solved 3 Questions so far, but now there is the following:

    sin = o/H
    sin = 24/32
    (The degree is a zero with a line crossing the middle.)
    sin = 0.75

    What should I input in google ? I tried 0.75/sin(0 degrees)
    but the answer didnt come up :S

    Your first mistake is in not having an angle. Sin of what = 24/32.

    So the equation should be sin(a) = 24/32 and solve for a.
