I am really having a hard time trying to learn power reducing formulas.

I am looking for some help learning how to use the power reducing formula.

$\displaystyle

sin^4(x) tan^2(x)

$

Ok, so I know that I can factor it down like so to start off with:

$\displaystyle

sin^2(x)^2

$

and

$\displaystyle
(1-cos2x/1 + cos2x)

$

now here i get a little confused as to how I need to break it down using 1/4. I believe my factoring capabilities are weak. I need some help here.

Thanks!
