1. ## graphing of cot

Hey guys could you help me in my problem about graphing of trig.

my function is this y = 1/2cot 3(x-pi)

All i know here is the location of the asymtote, and the the location of x=0. But Im not sure about the effect of the coeffient "1/2". Could some one explain me its effect on the graph. And How will I get its corresponding points on the x-axis.

We were taught the coeffecient (the amplitude of the sinusoidal function) is basically the vertical "stretch". For tan/cot graphs the coeffecient effects the steepness (you can check using a graphing calculator).

I too would like to know the steps of how you would graph it.
