Hello, Let alpha=arctan |x|, beta= - arctan |x - 1|, gamma = arctan 2. We have gamma=alpha-beta. Use tan(gamma)=tan(alpha-beta)=(tan(alpha)-tan(beta))/(1+tan(alpha)tan(beta)). You can get rid of tangents. Bye
