a right traingle with lengths 3 and 5, where 5 is the hypotenuse, must be a 3, 4, 5 or similarly proportioned triangle. so cosx = 4/5

You could have also solved this by doing $\displaystyle \sqrt{5^2-3^2}=4$

remember tan is opposite over adjacent for the second one.
