    Need help with last step (finding COS)

    I'm trying to review my notes and I understand everything until the very last step. Where does the "divided by 2" come from?

    Trigonometry

    The trigonometrical ratio of cos is given by base/hypotenuse
    So,
    In your question base is √3 and hypotenuse is 2.
    So,your 2 has come from hypotenuse.

    Hello, Lovely07!

    There's an obvious typo . . . recall what the question is asking.

    The last line should be: . {\color{blue}\cos\theta} \:=\:\frac{\sqrt{3}}{2}
