Here's your mistake:

tan(40) = 0.839099631...

x = 24/tan(40) = 28.6

She walked 140-28.6 = 111.4 m.

EDIT: I suggest that you don't evaluate the tangent ratios until the very end. This way you can get a more accurate answer.
