I tried this but I can only get this far and I am wondering how I am going wrong?
sinA + cosAcotA = cscA
sinA + cosA(cosA/sinA)
sinA + cos^2A/sinA
sinA + 1-sin^2A/sinA
please help

Taking the LCMQuote:
sinA + cos^2A/sinA
Sin^2A + cos^2A= cosecA * Sin A
But cosec A= I/sin A
so sin^2A+ cos^2A= 1
which we already know
which means that the assumption you started off with is correct.
