    Having problem with a word problem

    a surveyor is standing 120 meters from the base ofa tower. he determines that the angle of elevation is 30 degrees. the surveyor's eye level is 1.7 meters above the ground. Find the height of the tower.

    You have a right triangle. The base, adjacent, is 120m. The opposite side is the tower.

    120tan(30) + 1.7

    is this right?

    120tan(30)+1.7=31.7

    Hello

    I got a different answer.

    120 * tan(30) = 40 sqrt(3) = 69.282

    69.282 + 1.7 = 70.98 m

    Try it again.
