    Exclamation Area and Trig

    Hi

    I'm looking for somehelp in finding the areas for Area 1 and area 2.. i just can't seem to figure it out after trying numerous times any help would be much appriaiciated.

    I've modified your drawing a little bit.

    Area1 is a trapezoid with the parallel length of 50 and (50 + 300*tan(20). The height is 300.

    Area2 is the rectangle - Area1 - area of the isosceles triangle = \frac12 \cdot (210-50) \cdot 220

    Area 1:
    Separate this figure into two shapes: 1.) rectangle of width 50 and hieght 300
    and 2.) triangle of base 300 and hieght 300tan(20).


    Area 2:
    Find the area of the drawn triangle, it has a hieght of 220 and a base of 220tan(20). Then the area of figure 2 is totalarea - area1 - areatriangle.
