# Thread: Finding a point on a circle

1. ## Finding a point on a circle

Hi,

Could someone help me calculate a specific point on a circle when already given:

1) the radius of the circle
2) a point on the circle
3) and the angle of rotation away from that point.

So say a point moved 45 degrees along the circumference how do you calculate the co-ordinates of the new point?

Thanks,

Colm

2. Hello,

This may be difficult if you're not given the center of the circle or something like that

3. sorry I should have clarified that the circle is centered on the origin.
thanks.

HINT: How do you describe the point on the circle using polar coordinates?
