    i have problem in trigo general solution again

    i have problem in trigo general solution again-aa1.gif
    sorry for my laziness. i posted my question as a scanned handwriting image for a long time and i thought it was acceptable by helpers cos i got replies everytime ...

    He posted a scanned large image of handwriting which was hard to read. He typed it and it's better now

    But I still don't have an idea how to solve this.. My trig is not good ;P

    Ok, i remember, i thought it was another question ^^

    For the problem : there's something disturbing me : the condition of applying the formula is that tan(x)=tan(x+a)

    If you take a=pi/3, tan(x) is not = to tan(x+pi/3)



    (i wonder how you typed it...)

    in the first line

    "given: ...."

    there's a typo. The first = obviously should be a multiplication.

    Your answer and the books answer do NOT appear to be exactly equivalent. Your answer looks more correct. The book appears less correct. This is the problem when part of the answer has been rounded to a certain decimal approximation (in the case of the book, 1 decimal place) ....
