Find the area of the shaded region swept out by the minute hand in ten minutes.

The area of the small circle is ${\pi}(\frac{1}{2})^{2}$

Subtract the two to find the area of the shaded portion. Then, take 1/6 of that to find the said area. That's because 10 minutes is 1/6th of an hour.
