A canoeist paddles 2.8 km in a N34*E direction, and then, 5.2 km in a N65* W direction. What distance and in which direction should a second canoeist paddle to the same location? Thanks

You can use various methods, but you could start with the law of cosines. $\displaystyle AC=\sqrt{(5.2)^{2}+(2.8)^{2}-2(5.2)(2.8)cos(81)}$ Next, try using the law of sines to find the angles.
