Thread: real urgent help with trig word problem

two boats depart at the same location at the same time. The first travels west at 55mph and the second travels north at 60mph. Dra a right triangle which describes the position of the boats after one hour. Then solve the right triangle.

It's basically two lines that for a right angle and and the distance that they are apart is the hypotenuse.

so it's basically 55^2+60^2=c^2
