    Finding out the angle...

So, i have been doing some homework and i came across o problem i cannot understand...

"Find the angle θ in the right-angles triangle on the right, giving your answer in radians. Finding out the angle...-triangle.png

Now i calculated the angle with tan = 9/5 but it does not give the answer the book has....
So my question is, am i missing something or is the book wrong.(the answer it gives is 1.0637)

    Thank you...

tan 9/5 in rad gives -4.286 so that's not the answer...

have you pushed second function though, it is impossible to get -4.286 if you do that

I see what you mean , have to do tan^-1 , and yes i didn't actually know i had to do that, tan^-1 (9/5) does give 1.0637, i just didn't realize i had to do tan^-1 also.
    Thanks for that xD

When your looking for an angle you using sin cos and tan etc you must always use second function, i.e inverse
