    In case this is unclear, x=8.66 is the answer.
    I don't mean to say that x in the problem is equal to 8.66

    \tan 60 = \frac {15}x

    \Rightarrow x = \frac {15}{\tan 60}

    \Rightarrow x = \frac {15}{\sqrt{3}}

    \Rightarrow x \approx 8.66
