Photogrammetric coordinate geometry

I’m having some trouble with photogrammetric coordinate geometry. I need to know whether it possible to calculate the physical length and angle of an elongated object in 3D space (say a girder hanging from a crane) using the visual length and angle derived from one or more photographs of that elongate object? That is; if I were to take a couple of shots of the aforementioned girder from various known angles and distances and measure the length and angle at which it is hanging could I calculate these figures for the actual girder. These figures will eventually be used in conjunction with coordinate data (Eastings and Northings) from one end of the conceptual girder to calculate the coordinates of the other.
