# Math Help - Help on an Exercise in Right Triangle Trig

1. ## Help on an Exercise in Right Triangle Trig

The exercise asks me to construct an appropriate triangle to complete the table. ( $0deg \leq \theta \leq 90deg$, $0 \leq \theta \leq \frac{\pi}{2}$)
 Function img.top {vertical-align:15%;} $\theta$(deg) img.top {vertical-align:15%;} $\theta$(rad) Function Value sec img.top {vertical-align:15%;} $\frac{\pi}{4}$

I'm just drawing an absolute blank on how I would do this even though I feel it shouldn't be that hard. I think I'm suffering from information overload a little.

2. ## Re: Help on an Exercise in Right Triangle Trig

Note that sec(x) = 1/cos(x), and that pi = 180 degrees.

Can you finish?

3. ## Re: Help on an Exercise in Right Triangle Trig

Ok, I got it. Thank you. I don't fully understand why the book suggested this particular example - I'm sure after a while I will better see how this all fits together, but it had just walked me through an example where I was using trig functions to find lengths of the sides of triangles, and here I'm using them like I was with the unit circle in the previous section.
