Simplify each to one of three primary trig functions.

a)sinx+tanx/1+cosx

MY ATTEMPT:

sin +sin/cos / 1+cos

sincos+sin/cos * 1/1+cos

sincos+sin/cos+cos^2x

i dont know really what to do from there answer is tan or where i went wrong.

Hey skg94.

sin(x)cos(x) + sin(x) = sin(x)[1 + cos(x)] and cos(x) + cos^2(x) = cos(x)[1 + cos(x)]. You have a common term in both which cancel, but now you are left with sin(x)/cos(x) which is?
