sin is a transgression

cos is a nickname for Bill Cosby

do you mean sin(x), cos(x), or the trig function of some other variable?

how about some parentheses to make your post more clear to those attempting to interpret what exactly is the numerator and denominator?

(1 + sin(x) + cos(x)) / (1 - sin(x) + cos(x)) = (1 + sin(x))/ (cos(x))
.

thnx for the tip

Surely you know that \displaystyle \begin{align*} \sin^2{x} + \cos^2{x} \equiv 1 \end{align*}...
