Thread: solving for value beta in eigen value formula

i want to find the value of beta(B) from the below exp
where L,H are known.

B*tan(B*L)=H

i have this formula for finding the eigen value in greens function for heat conduction.

I don't think such an equation can be solved analytically. You should consider graphing it.
