Does anyone know:- how to make x the subject of the formula below

4000=0.433arctan(0.544x/1-0.25x)

Any assistance would be appreciated.

1)Divide by .433 both sides.

2)Take the tangent of both sides.

3)You are left with $\displaystyle \frac{.544x}{1-.25x}=N$ where N is the result after 1&2.

4)Thus, $\displaystyle .544x=N-.25xN$

$\displaystyle .544x+.25xN=N$

$\displaystyle x(.544+.25N)=N$

$\displaystyle x=\frac{N}{.25N+.544}$
