    Trigonometry Equations Question

Solve each of the following equations for value x in the range 0 < x< 360.

    (a) 8 sin^2 x + 2 cos x - 5 = 0

    (b) 4 sec^2 x - 3 tan^2 x = 5 tan x

I just need the first 3 steps to solve the question. Thanks.

For the first: \sin^2{x} = 1 - \cos^2{x}. Substitute, simplify and solve the quadratic.

For the second: \sec^2{x} = \tan^2{x} + 1. Substitute, simplify and solve the quadratic.
