    Max value and expression

    Please help, i'm struggling on this question,

    Given the function y=6cos 2pie divided by 14 x-2

    a) the maximum value of this function

    b) an expression for the x-values for which this maximum occurs

    not sure how to write it properly using pie

    Thanks

    is this what you mean?

    \displaystyle y = 6\cos\left(\frac{2\pi}{14x-2}\right)

    y=6cos(2pi\14)x-2

    \displaystyle y = 6\cos\left(\frac{2\pi}{14}x\right) - 2 = 6\cos\left(\frac{\pi}{7}x\right) - 2 has a maximum value of 4 and occurs when \displaystyle \cos\left(\frac{\pi}{7}x\right) = 1
