# Simple vector question.

Simple vector question.
On the soccer field, the goalie Gina stands in the middle of the goal crease on the goal line. She kicks the ball 25m on an angle of 35 degrees to the goal line. Her teammate Louisa takes this pass and kicks it 40m further, parallel to the sideline.

a) What is the resultant displacement of the ball?
b) If the field is 110m long, how far must the next striker kick the ball to take a good shot at the center of the goal, and in approximately what direction?

a) I calculated the resultant displacement to be aprox. 58m. Is that correct? And do I need some kind of direction/angle in this answer?

b) I'm not even sure what it is asking here. Can anyone explain? What does a "good shot" mean?

Yes, displacement is a vector quantity.

A good shot at the opposing teams goal is a shot that ends up at the center of the opposing teams goal line.
