All I can tell is: $\displaystyle sin(A+B) = sinA.cosB + cosA.sinB$ so if you substitute $\displaystyle A=3x$ and $\displaystyle B= \frac{\pi}{2}$, you have $\displaystyle y=cos(3x)$
