I'm struggling on this one. I've tried cos22 = h/20,000. Then from there I tried sin42= x/the answer I got above. That didint work, so I'm completely lost

That didint work, so I'm completely lost let x = horizontal distance from the base of the volcano to its center. $\displaystyle \tan(42) = \frac{h}{x} $ $\displaystyle h = x\tan(42)$ $\displaystyle \tan(22) = \frac{h}{20000+x}$ $\displaystyle \tan(22) = \frac{x\tan(42)}{20000+x}$ solve for x
