    trig equation help!!! linear combination of cos and sin

    equation is cos(t)+root3.sin(t) = 1

    now, ive started by using the formula,

    root(a^2+b^2).sin(t+(tan inverse (a/b))

    but i keep getting stuck, please help!

    a^2 + b^2 = 4 ....

    \tan^{-1} \frac{a}{b}  = \tan^{-1} \frac{1}{\sqrt{3}} = \frac{\pi}{6} ....
