Taking the circumference of the earth as 40,000 km, the angle at the centre of the earth subtended by an arc of length 1100 km is:
    \frac{1100}{40000}\times 360^o
    = 9.9^o
So, since Canada is North of the USA (or so it was the last time I was there), the latitude of Toronto is 33+9.9 = 42.9^o N.
