I need help with solving this problem.
A boat is 40km due east (away from in an eastward direction) form a lighthouse. The boat is traveling in a direction that is 30 degrees south of an east-west line. What is the closest distance the boat will come to the lighthouse if it stays it course?
I don't know where to begin with the problem.
