    Trig tangent problem

Solve the following equations for 0 (less than or equal to) x (less than or equal to) 2pi.

    tan x = sq.rt.(3) - 2

cos x = 1/7. I know one of the answers is 1.43, how do I get the others?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

You have the answer in the first quadrant? What other quadrant is cosine positive in? The 4th quadrant correct! Now use the identity to solve for $\displaystyle \theta$ in this quadrant.
