i have a problem to solve.

3sin(4x-20)=1.2

should i solve in radians or degree mod on calculator as it gives different answers?

thanks

Radians are simply a different way of measuring the angle. If you have not been taught about radians then I would go for degree mode, unless the questions asks otherwise of course.

Looking at the argument of the sine function, I'd suggest that whoever wrote the question intended answers to be in degrees. (Then again, whoever set the question deserves to get whatever you decide since the unit should have been specified but was not).

4. Generally speaking, problems that specifically deal with angles and triangles, have the angles measured in degrees. But problems in which the trig functions are treated simply as "functions" of a variable, x, have x in radians.
