# Math Help - Trigonometric form of a number

1. ## Trigonometric form of a number

Okay, I don't know how to find just theta either on my calculator or just by hand.

The problem was 5+2i.

I get the square root of 29.

I get 2/5.

I have to turn tan(2/5) into approximately 0.38. That's all the help I need really.

2. $tan(2/5) \ \approx\ .422$

the calculator has to be set to "approximate" in the mode menu

The arctangent of (2/5) = 21.801 degrees = 0.3805 radians

The calculator should have a DRG button
