    How do you get a tangent of an angle???

    By coputing the ratio of the lengths of side opposite the given angle and the side adjacent. That is

    \tan\theta=\frac{oppsite}{adjacent}

    where \theta is an angle within a right triangle.

    Use a calculator. If you need a more specific answer or if this does not answer the question you have in mind, then be more specific in your question. eg. Do you need exact value of special angles etc.
