Attached document showing my issue, this one's a small one. Basically I'm having trouble seeing how to load this into the quadratic formula.

This is getting really embarassing. I'm reviewing what I did previous section, watching the video lecture provided, then reading my book, and then trying to do the problems. Even after all that I end up having to ask for help on about every section because of some detail they left out.

$2sin^2(\frac{x}{2})-1=0$

$au^2+bu+c=0$

Think of the term: $2sin^2(\frac{x}{2})$ as the $au^2$ where $a=2$ and $sin^2(\frac{x}{2})$ is the $u^2$

So $b=0$ and $c=-1$

Edit (I used u intead of x since x is in the trig function already)

$sin(\frac{x}{2})=\frac{-0\pm\sqrt{0^2-4(-1)(2)}}{2(2)}$
