    Ok Im Stumpted Tan - Cos^2

    Hey I have a problem with some problems with an equation and got stuck when I got to a trig identity hope you can help

    4.6tan(x)-0.46cos^2(x)=50

    what was the original problem? were you expected to arrive at a solution algebraically?

    ... as it is, it looks as though you'll need to use technology to solve it.
