# Thread: Betting accumulator probabilty question?

1. ## Betting accumulator probabilty question?

Just a qucik question

If I were to chose 4 teams

Team 1 had a 82% chance of winning their match

Team 2 had a 78% chance of winning their match

Team 3 had a 60% chance of winning their match

Team 4 had a 55% chance of winning their match

What formula would you use to calculate the probability of all 4 teams winning??

2. I am assuming you are talking about a situation where each of the 4 teams was engaged with a different random Team X, in other words, I am assuming that Team 1 isn't in a match with any of the other 3 teams and so on

If that's true then you are looking for the Probability that Team 1 wins AND Team 2 wins AND Team 3 wins AND Team 4 wins, since nothing you've stated would indicated any type of dependence, we can assume that these events are independent and you can therefore just multiply all of the probabilities together

Multiply the chances together. .82*.78*.60*.55 = 0.211 = 21.1%. Don't lose your college savings fund all in one go now, ya hear?
