Basic Stats question-continuous/discrete
I'm having a little problem on my statistics project. I have a question asking me to relate styles of homes with housing prices on 50 observations of homes. So assuming housing prices are the y-variable and are continuous, and style being 1,2,3, which is nominal in the data set, graphically how would I show the relationship? I also am wondering in general if it is acceptable to make a scatter plot of a continuous and discrete variable together, because I am getting really weird scatter plot graphs that have separated vertical lines. I am wondering if that is acceptable when using one discrete variable against a continuous. Thanks for the help!
