# Math Help - 3 dice and probability. this one is pretty weird.

1. ## 3 dice and probability. this one is pretty weird.

I think I have it figured out but I am not sure. Its a multiple choice question so there are 5 possible answers.

"Three fair dice are tossed. Find the probability that exactly 2 of the 3 tosses result in a 6>'

A - 125/216
B - 15/216
C - 1/216
D - 75/216
E - None of the above

Now I am not sure but i worked the problem and got about 5/216 making the answer D. But I am kind of iffy on it. Any input our help would be great. Thanks alot!

This is "binomial probability".
The probability of succes is 1/6
The probability of fail is 5/6
Thus,
${ 3\choose 2}(1/6)^2(5/6)^1$

3. thanks alot for your help.
